Lce. Corpl. Willie Perks

 

Official news has come to hand of the death in action, in Egypt, of Lce. Corpl. Willie Perks, on the 3rd inst. The deceased was attached to the 1/4 Welsh Territorial Force.

He was aged 23 years, married with one child. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Richard Perks, 1, New Road Llandilo.

A memorial service to the late Lance. Corpl. W. M. Perks, New Road, will be held at Ebenezer next Sunday afternoon at 3. Lance-Corpl. Perks fell in action in Palestine.

A memorial service to the late Lce.-Corpl. W. M. Perks, New Road, and Private Rochford, Ffairfach, was held at Ebenezer Baptist Chapel last Sunday afternoon, when the Rev. G. Edmund Williams (pastor) preached a very appropriate sermon for the occasion to an exceptionally large congregation. Miss James, Rhydyffynon, presided at the organ. (F)

A memorial service to the late Corpl. W. W. Perks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perks, New Road, and Private Rochford, son-in-law of Mr. Morgan Davies, Ffairfach, was held at Ebenezer Baptist Chapel. The Rev. G. Edmund Williams officiated. There was a crowded congregation to pay a deserved tribute to the silent heroes, the first named of whom, succumbing to wounds received in action, was buried in Scriptural ground – the hills of Judea.
