Funeral , The internment of Private Owen Jones, R. W. F., of Woodfield Terrace, Llandebie, took place on Thursday last week, and being of a military character, was attended by about 500 people. Capt. Edwards, who was in command of the parade, Capt. W. L. Roberts, Sergt. Walsh, and Corpl. Stokes represented the military; Commander W. N. Jones, Sub-Commander W. L. Smith, Instructor J. Pritchard Davies, Corpl. A. S. Jones, the Ammanford V. T. C. and Llandebie V. T. C. were in full strength. The bearer party comprised Sergt. Walsh, Corpl. Stokes, a Lance-corporal of the 4th Welsh, and a N. C. O. of the 1st Belgian Cavalry. The service at the church was conducted by the vicar, Rev. D. W. Thomas, and at the graveside a local Nonconformist delivered an address in Welsh. |
