Among the soldiers on leave during the past week has been Corpl. Jos. Scarsi, A. S. C., who is with the 3rd Motor Ambulance Corps in France, where he has been for twenty months. Speaking four languages, Corpl. Scarsi is in great request as an interpreter.
His mechanical skill has also enabled him to get put on the pay roll as an artificer. He looked fit and well, and spoke highly of the way returning soldiers are received at Victoria Station, London, and also by representatives of the V. T. C. Swansea.
Food and drink is provided and every attention paid to the soldiers. While in Ammanford Corpl. Scarsi was presented by Councillor B. R. Evans, on behalf of the local Reception Committee with the usual cheque, and on Monday evening he was the guest of a few friends at a dinner provided at the Cross Inn Hotel, where a very pleasant time was spent.
On Tuesday Corpl. Scarsi took train for France, and his many friends wish him good luck and a safe return.
