Private Thomas Lewis, of Caerbryn Terrace, who is with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers at Garswood Park, Ashton-in-
Makerfield, Lancs., is an old Army man and served eight years in India.
He has been to the Front in the present war, and was wounded by shrapnel at Neuve Chapelle. He has written to his friends at Penygroes thanking the people of Penygroes and Caerbryn for the kindness they showed to him whilst he was on leave.
He adds that there is a rumour his regiment was being shirted shortly, he did not know where, but they all hoped it would be to a warmer place. He hopes Mr. and Mrs. Hughes, Farmers’ Arms, and all the boys are enjoying good health, especially Tom Bach Powell and Mathew Taylor, and that all will have good luck during the next year.
He asks to be excused writing in lead, because the blooming ink has been upset. He also asks to be remembered to Dai Bowen. + Photo Letter
