Llandilo Bridge Mart – Mr. W. N. Jones and Mr. T. L. Harries were the auctioneers at this mart on Monday.
There was a good supply of fat cattle, and trade was easier, there being a drop of quite 1s. per score in prices. Fifty cattle were brought under the hammer, only five of which remained unsold. Some of the others realised from £25 to £40 each, equivalent to 18s. or 19s. per score dead weight. Inferior lots made less money.
The number of sheep and lambs entered was over 800, and an excellent clearance was effected, trade being very brisk and old price maintained. Ewe and whether mutton made 6d. to 7d. per Ib., and nee season lambs 8d. to 9d. live weight.
There was an average supply of pigs and keen demand, porkers making 18s. to 20s. per score dead weight, and small pigs fetching 32s. to 40s. each.
The number of calves offered was up to the average, and they sold readily at from £2 to £8, according to age and quality.
