Mr. Ted Morgan, the well-known Ammanford cricketer, who has been going service in France with the Welsh Regiment, has been discharged invalided from the Army, and arrived home on Thursday last.

Corpl. Jos. Scarsi, A. S. C., College Street, who after a week’s furlough returned to France, where he is engaged with the Motor Ambulance Corps, last week, writes that he had a terrible passage over, but is now all right again.

On Sunday morning next, at All Saints’ Church, Ammanford, there will be a memorial service for the late Capt. ---L--- W. James and other local heroes who have fallen in the war.
The V. T. C. will parade, under Commandant W. N. Jones, and the service will be a memorable one.

Local effort on behalf of Swansea Hospital Linen Guild has resulted in Ammanford having done remarkably well again this year, the sum of £36 ?. 9d. having been collected, as well ---W--- nice contribution of linen having ---W--- forwarded.
The vice-presidents of the district are Mrs. Herbert, Brynmarlais, and Mrs. Price, Bryncwyn, ---lais Road, who has taken the place of Mrs. Phillips, late of Parcyrhun district, and Mrs. G. V. Davies, Parc---- Tycroes district; Miss Richard, --ffin, and Miss Harries, Ty’r Capel, Bettws district; Mrs. Arthur Roberts, Florence Road; Mrs. Wm. Phillips, Florence Road; Miss Nellie Fisher, Wansbeck; Miss Williams, Gwynfryn, Ammanford district.

A complimentary concert was held at Ebenezer Baptist Chapel, on Tuesday evening, honour of Private David Richards, R. H. A., who was home on furlough. Mr. David Davies, High Street, presided.
A capital programme was arranged, the following local artists taking part : — Miss Davies, Hopkinstown; Mr. Rees Isaac, Tirydail; and Mr. Tom Williams, Tycroes, recitations; Master Joey Phillips, penillion singing; master H. –rins, violin solo; Messrs. Howell J. Richards, Ionah Williams, Bettws, --athan Jones, Bettws, --- Lewis, Talbot Road, John Jones, Tirydail, and Harold Davies, solos.
The usual presentation on behalf of the church was made by Mr. Joseph Williams, Wind Street. Addresses were delivered by the Rev. Glyn Edwards, Cwrtnewydd, and the Rev. John Griffiths, B. A., B. D., pastor.
