The following letter has been received by the Secretary of the Ammanford Eisteddfod Photo of Danny Moriarty
Committee: —“1 Field Street, Ammanford, January 25th, 1916 – Dear Sir, – I shall be very pleased if you will kindly thank the Committee of the Ammanford Chair Eisteddfod for their most generous gift of £10, which will be a great help for me at the present moment.

I have tried to do my little bit for my country and for Ammanford, and I am glad to think that the people at home have not forgotten me. –
