OUR CARTOONIST.

We are starting a series of cartoons by a local artist, Mr. T. C. Morgan, of Talbot Road, Ammanford, and feel sure their cleverness will appeal to our readers.

That Mr. Morgan is no novice with his pen is shewn by a recent incident. He applied in all sincerity to a School of Drawing for an advanced course, submitting some of his sketches. The Principle wrote back to say he could not teach him anything, but appreciated the joke of his application for tuition.

Again Mr. Morgan was on his holidays at Llandudno, and in the same compartment of the train was the manager of a music hall. In conversation it transpired that one of the “turns” at the hall engaged by the latter was a “Lightning Artist,” who was indisposed, and before parting Mr. Morgan had been offered and accepted an engagement for a fortnight at the Egyptian Hall, Llandudno.

His success was so complete that he was immediately offered a three months' engagement under the same management. His work gained great praise from the local newspapers.

Two of Mr. Morgan's drawings appear in this issue of the Chronicle , and we may point out that to appreciate the “odour” of the bad egg, the newspaper should be held at arm's length.

A couple of years ago, we may add, Mr. Morgan, who is a keen student of mysticism and legerdemain, contributed a series of articles to the “News of the World” which created a flutter in the dovecotes of the “Spiritualists,” and caused the dispersion of many of the fraudulent persons who were duping the credulous public with table turning, spirit rapping, &c.

Hold newspaper at arm's length to appreciate the “odour” of this “Bad Egg.” (goes with bad egg cartoon)
