ENLISTMENTS (Jack Southern)

Jack Southern, formerly a clerk at the Ammanford Colliery, and at one time captain and bowler of the local cricket team, joined the Navel Reserve and went to Crystal Palace for training.

Afterwards he went to Chatham, and is now somewhere in the North Sea on a service boat. His brother, Cameron, was one of two officers in the 53 rd Sikhs, forming part of the Eastern Mediterranean Expedition, who were killed at Aden.
