Involvement in industrial strike action in the British Fire Service was a bitter pill swallowed by all Firemen and Officers in the Fire Brigades Union. Those in the National Fire Officers Union did not support us during the first action of 1977, however they came on board for the second action in 2003.
There are no pictures of Firemen attending any incidents during these times. There are stories which I have re-written in their entirety because of their layout in the paper is unsuitable for formatting in html.
We do have one picture and that is of the R.O.A.B who some say may have SCABBED, I do not. They saw themselves as saviours of the community and they helped ease my conscious by providing some cover.
