CHILDREN… Playing with matches are believed to be responsible for a fire which badly damaged a Llandybie house over the weekend.
Emergency services were called to a vacant house at 47 Llandeilo Road, Llandybie, at 3.30 pm on Sunday following reports of a fire.
Six firemen wearing breathing apparatus fought through smoke and flames after forcing their way into the building through an upstairs window.
Quantities of debris and rubbish inside the house prevented firemen entering the building from the ground floor and it was two hours before it was brought under control, a fire service spokesman told the Guardian.
The property belongs to Mr. Harry Combes of Penrock Llandeilo.
