APPOINTMENT OF WHOLE TIME FIREMEN
------------------------

Applications are invited for the posts of Whole-time FIREMEN for service at LLANELLY (1), and AMMANFORD (2) fire stations.

Candidates must be between 19 and 31, or, in the case of a person who, having undertaken a fixed period of voluntary service in H.M. Armed Forces, has completed that service, 35 years of age on enrolment; they must be at least 5ft. 7ins. In height, with a minimum chest measurement of 36 inches (unexpanded) and an expansion of not less than 2 inches.

A desirable qualification is that the candidate shall have had driving experience, or a knowledge of motor mechanics.

The successful candidates will be required to pass a medical examination and education test.

The commencing rate of pay will be £6 11s 0d per week. The posts are super-annuable under the Fireman's Pension Scheme. 1948.

Applications on forms to be obtained from the Fire Stations, Wind Street , Ammanford, and Hall Street , Llanelly, should be forwarded to the Chief Fire Officer, Fire Brigade Headquarters, Pentrefelin Street Carmarthen, to reach him not later than Saturday, December 9 th, 1950.
