About 10 tons of hay belonging to Mr. Evans, Plasgwyn Farm, Penygroes, was practically destroyed by fire on Friday night last.
The cause of the outbreak is unknown, and such a hold did the fire get that the services of the Ammanford and Llanelly N.F.S. had to be sought.
To the credit of the Ammanford N.F.S., it must be said that they were on the scene in ten minutes after receiving the call.
They, the local police, and others worked exceedingly hard before the fire was finally extinguished on the following day.
