Further operations on Friday of rescue parties in one of the bombed areas of Swansea area resulted in the recovery of the bodies of two Pontardawe Council full-time firemen at the point it was felt certain they would be ? where the side wall of a clothing establishment had collapsed into a side street.
The men had been seen in the vicinity just before as they were seeking instructions from leaders of the Swansea A.F.S.
It was reported to the Pontardawe Council that two auxiliary firemen met their death while the Council's Brigade were rendering assistance in Swansea. H. Lewis, 19 Amman Road, Brynamman, and D. Winston Davies, Old Post Office, Cwmgorse.
