The Health Committee reported to the Ammanford Urban Council on Wednesday night that Mr. David Davies had tendered his resignation as captain of the Fire Brigade.
It was agreed that the resignation be accepted, but the Mr. Davies be asked to continue as a member of the Brigade.
A further decision was that the Council's appreciation of Mr. Davies services be conveyed to him.
Mr. Douglas Elias suggested that the Roads Committee go into the question of the personnel of the Brigade, and also decide on an age limit.
Many of the members, he said, were now working outside the district, and it was not an easy matter to connect bells in the houses every day.
Mr. Frank Davies replied that the Surveyor had already been instructed to prepare a report on the matter.
