Ammanford Urban Council, on Wednesday approved of a recommendation to procure
A large size trailer-pump at a cost of £416 15s.,
- The purchasing of 30 sets of overalls at 11s. 6d. each (10 for a peace time Fire Brigade and 20 for the members of the Auxiliary Fire Service),
- The spending of £35 for the conversion of a loft for lectures, (Pick & Shovel site)
- And £99 10s. to provide the accessory equipment.
It was explained that the expenditure was necessary for the protection of life and property, and was compulsory under the provisions of the Fire Brigade Act.
